The point was that a human female isn't fertile after the menopause, but
continues living for many years after it. We don't really understand why
higher organisms age and die, so we can't propose an evolutionary motive,
except that it is probably better for her to devote her energies to helping
with the grandchildren rather than have additional children she won't have
time to support through to maturity.
