Jim! Hello from the south shore of Lake Ontario. I sail out of Fair Haven and 
one of my favorite destinations is Kingston. As to the enlarging of your 
propane locker just make sure that the enlarged locker is sealed from the 
rest of the boat and that you have a separate overboard "drain" line to vent 
off any leaking propane gas. Propane is heavier than air and therefore any 
leak can allow gas to seep to the lowest point in your vessel (the bilge) and 
create a serious possibility of explosion. If I had propane on my boat I 
would look into also installing a "sniffer" in my bilge. Good luck with your 
modifications. Next summer look for an Olson 30 named "Looney Tunes",that 
will be us.
