Current Type IV, or Metal tapes are generally like all others. 
However, it the recorder's heads or erase heads and matching curcuitry
aren't designed for metal tape, the result sound recording will be weak
and distorted.  This is due to the bias/erase levels being way-out for
metal formulations.  Also the record levels fed to the tape are higher.
Playback doesn't matter, just use the CrO2 (chrome) setting.  That'll
be fine.
