Huh!?!? What!?!? Me "lengthy"!?!? ;)
MC> Thanks for the message to Kevin Morris, as it was very

You're welcome! I'm glad you got something out of it!
MC> I have thought of getting into Wedding Videography

particular type of contract?
Yeah - to hold me harmless if my primary and back-up equipment fails. I
haven't had to take advantage of the contract, but it does give me a couple
of weeks to do the dubs before I have to deliver them - usually I'm done
within three days, though.
MC> And how did you go about getting people to call you for this
MC> type of
MC> service? Would it be a good idea to go put business cards
MC> and flyers at
MC> the local brides/groom shops around town or is it better to
MC> advertise in
MC> the Newspaper, etc?
Mostly word of mouth. Many photographers in town will refer people to you if
you offer them a kickback on the clients they refer...I've found that
advertising in the paper is okay, but the best source seems to be bridal
fairs. They're expensive to get display tables at, but each business
participating gets a list of brides that registered to attend...and they're
ALL looking for videographers...and some will pay what you're asking for
professional results. The approach is, "sure, Uncle Irving has a great new
CamCorder...and he probably has a great instamatic, too, right?...but you
wouldn't want to trust him to take your wedding pictures, would you?" ...And
you know what? It's the truth!
