| subject: | Viscious dogs |
I am so glad that there are people out there that realize that man aggressive dogs are a product of their owner. I myself own 5 pit bulls and have never had any problems. Four of them are outside dogs and I have one that stays in 99% of the time and his name is Seizer. I raised my outside dogs to be sociable to other people... of course they bark at people when they come in the back yard but when you walk up to them they go crazy trying to get your attention so you will pet them. Now Seizer (the one inside) is more protective than the rest. Once he gets to know you he will like you but until then he won't let you pet him. The reason he is this way is because I taught him to be this way. I got him when he was a puppy and never associated him with anybody, so of course he doesn't like anybody. And he especially doesn't like people with hats on, because I have never worn a hat and neither has my husband. I have been breeding Pit Bulls for about four years and I have only seen a hand full of man aggressive pits, but they were all a product of their owner. People who have never owned or been around Pit Bulls just go by what they hear through the media. And we all know the media always makes the story alittle bit more than it really is... WC>all the time i find myself reading about one breed or another being unfit WC>needing special ordinances, laws, insurance. as far as i'm concerned like WC>drunken driving, guns left accessable in homes with children, it's the owner WC>fault in all but a few cases. my brittish staffordshire bull terrier is ot WC>chained outside, never struck, and yes i understand the nature of aggressive WC>breeds. i am top dog and the dog understands this and is happier with his. WC>establish top dog, after all it isn't a fuzzy bunny. 2. keep it clean as whe WC>they develope a strong odor they become more belligerent. 3. never strike, a WC>dog, harsh tone when misbehaving and praise when obedient will make the og WC>*want* to please you. if you've read and understand all of the above and sti WC>disagree let me suggest adding labradors to the banned breeds. i've a relati WC>who owns WC>a lab with children in the house, he has been struck, i wouldn't trust hat WC>animal. i was house sitting at the aforementioned house and a friend came WC>over, dog went for friends throat. i took it to the pool and gave it a ide WC>the bottom, dog came up and went for my throat, second trip to the bottom. t WC>dog came to the surface and waited in the shallow end until i gave it WC>permission to get out, no further problems. not my prefered method of WC>handleing such, but i didn't hit it as the owners did bringing it up. oint WC>being if you descend to violence sooner or later that dog is going to realis WC>it can dish it out as well as get and do something about it. now my pit bull WC>all i had to do to establish top dog was give it a bath and this dog never WC>shows aggression even to people who shrink back from it because they recogni WC>the breed. ps. the lab also attacked the pit bull and the pit scarcely notic WC>as WC>i was able to intercede before it got really bad, eventually my dog would ha WC>returned fire... i think. think about it. regards.
