| subject: | Moving to a 64Bit system |
Hello Stephen! Tuesday March 17 2015 10:04, you wrote to All: > I run mbse on a CentOS 6.5 32bit system. > What would I need to do to move the mbse setup to a CentOS 7.0 64bit > system? > Would copying the files across, and re-compiling the exe's be all > that's needed or will more work be required? > There are no user's on my system as it's only used as a FTN HUB setup. When I transferred to x64 from i86 it went smoothly, I compiled mbse on a X64 system and installed the system then I copied over all of the x86 mbse system files but NOT the binaries (~/bin directory) to the new system overwriting the newly created install data files etc. Worked straight away. Watch out if you have changed the paths of mbse or any of the data areas though and change them in the setup procedures after the 'copy' ! Also when coping use the preserve date & attribute settings when using cp, e.g., 'cp -a ' or 'cp -p ' etc. Vince --- Mageia Linux v4/Mbse v1.0.4/GoldED+/LNX 1.1.5-b20130910* Origin: Air Applewood, The Linux Gateway to the UK (2:250/1) SEEN-BY: 19/33 34/999 90/1 116/18 120/331 123/500 1406 128/187 135/364 140/1 SEEN-BY: 218/700 226/0 160 230/150 240/1120 249/303 250/1 261/38 100 266/404 SEEN-BY: 266/1413 267/155 280/464 282/1031 1056 292/907 908 311/2 320/119 SEEN-BY: 340/400 393/68 396/45 633/267 280 640/384 712/620 848 770/1 801/161 @PATH: 250/1 261/38 712/848 633/267 |
