Took Missy to the vet recently, and the vet told me that thanks to the mild
winter we've had here in Maryland, we'll probably have a bumper crop of ticks
and fleas this summer!
Ticks don't usually like cats, but having a huge number of ticks looking for
food may mean that some ticks may pose a problem for cats.
Also, we'll have a bumper crop of pollens and molds this summer. The vet
told me that cats have histamine receptors in their skin, so if a cat has an
allergeric response to pollen and/or mold, she'll scratch her skin more than
usual.
Hope this helps!
