I get very nervous when ever I see the term "Zero
Tolerance" used.  This is the term that got a third
grade girl expelled when she asked her teacher to cut
the chicken she brought from home with a knife from
home.  It is the term that got the a first grader
suspended for kissing a girl on the play ground after
she asked him to.  Its the term that got two girls
suspended for exchanging two Mitol (tm) tablets.  Its
the term that almost led me to a court fight with my
local school system when they wanted to forbid my
asthmatic child from having her bronchialdilator with
her at all times.
Now with this history do you really want to apply "Zero
Tolerance" to law enforcement?  Not me!
