RS> So how about telling us the other story.

I'd be happy to, if I knew exactly what it was. Helen was understandably
rather distressed (why she even went to work the next day is beyond me),
and Lyn's meagre info was relayed to her second-hand by Kerry (our
hairdresser) anyway. The coppers have already made an arrest, and the fact
that the suspect lives at Beenleigh, around 10km from Woodridge, speaks
volumes against the claim that it was a random attack. All I know for sure
is that the victim was bashed with a baseball bat (not the garden stake
which was left next to his body), and the offender kept it up until his
head looked like a 6 month old watermelon. IOW, it seems that he really
meant to kill him.

BG> By the same token though, I still refuse to walk local streets after dark.

RS> But you still drive down to the shops, a MUCH bigger risk to your life |-)

Oh sure, statistically there is no argument with that at all, but if
driving, I can at least minimise the likelihood of my having an accident.
Not so with a random attack by a bunch of ferals though.
