In my decade plus of being the moderator of one of the most active
echos, I only had to occasionally send moderator messages to a few
members of the echos. That echo was also one with members who had
reasonable conversations with each other -- and periodic face-to-face
meetings. It was also populated by many non-sysop members, and still
is. I believe that I only asked for a feed cut in two
cases. In one of those, the sysop informed me that he had observed what
the user did and had already cut his feed.
