Hi, Bob. BL> RM> cd c:\apps\grunge grunge.exe %1 BL> BL> Thanks, Roy. Whatta good idea! My PATH is running into the BL> BL> 256-byte limit so it's come just in time. BL> PE> BTW, the ".exe" at the end is ignored, as far as I'm aware. BL> PE> BFN. BL> Yair... I was shocked to find that Pascal requires the full name. No, DOS does (these days?) I thought exactly as Paul did but I was testing my new Exec unit at the weekend and wanted to see what DOS did for comparison. Created testexec.exe and testexec.bat and no testexec.com. TESTEXEC runs testexec.exe TESTEXEC.EXE runs testexec.exe TESTEXEC.BAT runs testexec.bat TESTEXEC.COM "Bad command or file name" When did they change this???? BL> It was the idea I liked, not the execution. He should have added BL> "c:" and "cd\" lines as well, to return to the root directory (or BL> wherever), but it never occurred to me to replace most of the PATH BL> with batch files. That's the idea I liked. Much easier just to put *everything* in the root directory I would have thought. :-) Regards, fIM. * * I speak English, but COBOL-85 is my native tongue... @EOT: ---* Origin: Pedants Inc.
