Seems there's been an advancement in fuel cell
technology leading to easier and less energy intensive
production of hydrogen.

MFC or microbial assisted fuel cells can generate 4 times as
much hydrogen as conventional fementation at 1/10th
the power consumption of electrolysis.

Human waste is one source of suitable biomass and the production
of hydrogen could help offset the costs of waste water treatment
while also helping in the cleanup of thaat waste water.

The biomass fuel cell requires about .25 volts of electricity
to bypass the dead end products normally associated
with conventional fermentation produced hydrogen fuel
resulting in a four fold increase in yield.
