That doesn't impress me. The juror hadn't heard the rest of the case, so
they couldn't possibly know what was coming, and there had been no
deliberations. Remember, at least two of the O.J. jurors were ready to
acquit at the close of that trial, but they changed their mind in almost
record time when the deliberations got under way.
Again, if you're facing a potential life sentence for a felony (though
clearly he wouldn't have gotten life for a first offense) vs. probation for a
misdomeaner, are you going to take the chance that the jury will "probably"
acquit?
It's easy being armchair defendant. I'm sure you'd feel differently if it
was *your* life on the line.

The PR and kink were directly tied together. Albert had become the butt of
jokes and at best would have been a huge distraction. This was not because
of assault and battery, but because of his alleged sex life. If he hit
someone in a bar and got the same conviction, at worst he would have gotten a
suspension.
