TA>TW> I read the origional Press release when it entered the market but never
TA>TW> followed up on it. SO it may be as promising for the NON Nix types as
TA>TW> they claim?

TA>Not on my CompUSA 533 celertron (that Knoppix won't work on either 8-(
TA>I am trying it on slower IBM 2153e3n Aptiva 300 legacy I keep for
TA>genealogy database.

Sounds like my AQMD 200 Tyan Tomcat MB .When it was farily NEW I tried
Redhat on it. NO GO. Several years later I tried the cureent Redhat.
Still NO GO. Also tried Mandrake 7.
I played a little with Knoppix on a IWILL AMD 1000 MB but still had some
problems getting it working right.
I did have moderate sucess with Knoppix on a NVidia AMD Duron 1200 MB
though. At least I could print, One of the problems onm the other
Releases. Btu haven't tried connecting to the Internet. What I am after
is a good stable and reliable Dial Up Internet machine. Plan to
do all else on my Win98SE SPU box and use a KVM automatic switch
for jumping over the the LINUX Internet machine. Idealy using one of
those small cube computers hidden in a corner under the desk but fiscal
restraints may rule otherwise..
