Hee. When we were in FL, the folks in back of the subdivision were 'better off' than some of us in the front. I had some good 'finds' by driving around the next trash pickup day after Christmas - - snagged a few good monitors that way. Also, when we were getting ready to move up here, I did some dumpster looking to find packing boxes - - there were a couple of good-sized office complexes just up the road, and I found a couple of working VGA monitors that way, too. Maybe if you called and explained you situation, they would save you a box or two. Maybe a friend (if I were nearby, I'd take you) or your landlady would give you a ride over there to pick them up. What I'm thinking about is your flexibility for future upgrades - - if you can get yourself a std ATX mid or mini-tower case with a std ATX ps vs that itty bitty 145W SFX PS in your current case - - even if the mobos were bad, older ATX mainboards from maybe 5 yrs ago are now dirt cheap, and that would give you an upgrade path when/if your current HP Celeron system gets sick or dies. I know I have some MicroATX mainboards here which cost me maybe a couple bucks apiece which will take AMD Athlon/Duron chips up to 1GHz, which will accept those memory sticks which are in your current Celeron system. Anyway - - Good luck. - - - JimH. ...
