That's an interesting subject.  There was quite a fracas some
time ago in this country over a South African citizen, whose family had
lived there for half a millenium or so, who was student at a US university,
not really being an 'African' because he was white.  In point of fact he
was far more 'African' than his critics were 'American'.

A point made by Louis L'Amour (and I think by Robert A. Heinlein) in some
of his books is that *everybody* comes from someplace else.
