15 minutes? hehe, its a tad bit more than that to ensure that one covers
everything properly...

FWIW: here's a very simple .BAT file for use after you get it installed and
configured...

===== snip =====

echo off
rem this is runfd.bat
set fd=path to installed directory
set task=1
:top
cd %fd%
fd
rem check errorlevels here
if errorlevel 101 goto bbscaller
if errorlevel 33 goto maint
if errorlevel 32 goto mailout
if errorlevel 31 goto mailin
if errorlevel 10 goto end
goto end

:bbscaller
run bbs software here
check errorlevels
if normal bbs exit, goto top
goto end

:maint
run midnight maint here
goto top

:mailout
scan for outbound mail here
goto top

:mailin
toss inbound mail here
goto top

:end
echo FrontDoor task %task% has been terminated.

===== snip =====

its not as simple as one might think simple because one can do whatever
they want with their errorlevels and what they define them for within
FDSETUP... if you run a BBS, then you have to account for callers coming in
as well as possibly giving yourself a function key errorlevel exit for
local mode access...

why don't you copy your existing setup to another directory as a backup and
then install as an upgrade to the existing directory? you should then be
able to continue to operate as you have been, for the most part... the only
thing i can see is that you should add "set task=1" to your
existing .BAT file before you load FD if it doesn't already exist...

i may be able to assist further if you can give more details about your
setup and what you want it to do...

didn't you set up what you have now?
