I think I wrote this already (I've been replying to messages off of two
different BBS's), but just in case...
Although you may not have said prove, others of us who've been arguing
the opposing viewpoint HAVE, and so you must've realize that the concept
of proof was important to this discussion.

I think this is where you are getting confused between the two different
types of, what you call, research. Research conducted according to
scientific criteria really does prove something. Qualitative,
oberservational studies, OTOH, merely suggest a correlation between two
quantities.
