wrong!  If Rod thought he knew it, he would have replied with his usual 
one-liner of "illegal blah blah blah..."

I've seen quite a few of these around now.. it works like this: (from a few 
descriptions I've seen on the internet:)

you call the number, it will go on about a load of crap.. ask for the 
number of the person who referred you, then give you your number.

the call costs about $1.50 or more...  For each person that you get to call 
it and quote your ID number, you get 50cents, for each person they get to 
call it you get 25cents etc. etc.  Ofcourse there's no way to check who 
this mob is or that they even paid out with their scam.

it's illegal "pyramid-selling" because the majority of people who call the 
number will only lose the cost of the call and get nothing for it!

I sent you a netmail long ago for all of this.  If it didn't get sent to 
you then that's just one more netmail lost in the unreliable Fidonet 
system. Not my problem,.  I'm not going to spend time replying again..  I
