I'm hooked up. Initially at speeds of 100Mbps down and 50Mbps up. I ended up
being my ISPs first customer to be wired up for their VoIP offering as well
so my POTS connection is a cable lying in the roof space now.
6-7 days pass and y/day I was upgraded to the Gigatown speeds I had been
hoping to take advantage of since November last year when my city won a
national competition to be the first in my country to be offered gigabit
speeds over fibre - we get it at a very good price for three years before
others will.
Now I am on speeds of 840Mpbs down and around 440Mpbs up the last time I
checked. It's amazing and the computers in the house are showing up as the
bottle necks now instead of the imcoming data.
I hope to start exploring the viable use of streaming services such as
Netflix (arrived in Australia / New Zealand about 4-6 weeks ago) soon.
Best, Paul
