Rite Guard will probably not help with the phone getting gunky
from your ear.  What is getting on the phone is likely a
combination of sweat and ear wax.
I find wearing a headset and also using my phone a lot seems to
convince my ear to load up with wax, sometimes it washes out
nicely when showering, other times requires the services of an
m.d. to remove.
