->  I think that one is BS. Back soem yearas ago it was a problem. BMW was
->  the one that pursued the problem and at first most the High Octane gas
->  have cleaner additiaves. In fact yuor Friendly BMW dealer wouidl give
->  you a list of Approved Gas. Since that time ALL grades of gasoline
->  include the Detergent for keeping the injectors cleaned.

I just ran a bottle or two of ethanol through the tank from time 
to time and cleaned out the carb bowls.

Speaking motorcycle here and the effect of using the ethanol
was pronounced.
