Herb, In your message to Marty Tabnik about Com ports and IRQ lines, you 
might 
have misplaced the latter. You typed:
    
HP>    COM1 - addr 03F8  IRQ 4
HP>    COM2 - addr 02F8  IRQ 3
HP>    COM3 - addr 03E8  IRQ 3
HP>    COM4 - addr 02E8  IRQ 4
I suspect that you meant to assign Com3 to IRQ4, and Com4 to IRQ3. If 
Marty has a piece of equipment on Com2 it will interfere with his modem 
on Com4 since both use the same IRQ line.
