Agreed.

Ditto.
NM> I did not whine or beg, nor will I ever concerning this subject...
Ditto.

The same thing will happen, to an extent, in the NYC area should I make
the same decision (I'm leaning strongly to RAR/2 at this point - I was
almost ready to do it, but figured I'd wait for v2.00 to be released -
well, v2.00 is considerably slower than v1.55, so now I'm not sure if I
will switch). My BBS is one of the few in this area which uses ARJ as
the primary archive format.
I think it's worth noting that, on my BBS, the ARJ distribution archives
have been downloaded many times:
126 ARJ241A.EXE
34 ARJ250.EXE
26 ARJ250A.EXE
23 ARJ242B.EXE
19 ARJ242A.EXE
17 UNARJ241.EXE
12 ARJ242C.EXE
5 UNARJ32.ARJ
4 UNARJ.ARJ
4 UNAR2412.ARJ
The main reason most of the callers downloaded these files (particularly
the non-beta versions) is because they downloaded one or more .ARJ files
from the BBS and needed to be able to extract them! I'm sure that the
vast majority of these downloads would not have occurred had ARJ not
been the standard archive format on my BBS.
