If that is the case, a backup (any backup) will do the job. The entry SET DESKTOP=[Your Boot Drive]:\DESKTOP is meant for THE situation where at boot you get the message "the system cannot find the desktop in your ini files". And if that is the case, not even the startup folder will come up (as there is no desktop) and you will be prompted to accept a temporary workplace (dekstop). If that is the case, not even a regular backup will do coz there is a mismatch between the desktop ID and EA on disk (data not present in the ini files). It's here where the entry SET DESKTOP=[Your Boot Drive]:\DESKTOP comes to the rescue. -- Groeten uit Gent, Kris http://www.taartenbakkerij.com/bestanden/warpstock-europe-2005-dresden.jpg http://www.taartenbakkerij.com/bestanden/zum_weberplatz.jpg ------------------------ Yahoo!
