What you would do is:
1. boot up from
Maintenance partiotn
OR
installation diskettes to commandline
use INFOs zip to pack the whole systemdrive into a single
zip file: zip -9rS system x:\*
You may burn later that file onto CD or copy it to somewhere else.
To restore it: boot up like above and use INFOs unzip.exe:
x: (whereas x: is the drive you likes to unzip to
unzip
This will restore the whole system as it was at the time you zipped
it up.

When you have NOT installed networking during install time you would
NOT have it easy anyway.
When you have installed networking even without a network card
inserted as the WARP4 installer requires you would simply fire up mpts
and CHANGE the dummy NIC already installed against the driver of the
NIC you have installed. Then INSERT the following protocols when not
already there
- netbios - needed to exchange data between yor computers
that is known as PEER (lets share resources)
and requester (use shared resources)
This type of connection is known as LAN.
- tcp/ip - needed to go into internet
To use internet you would select 1 of 2 different ways:
1. use a software router
That is isdnpm (comes with eCS 1.2 on CD #2 as full registered
eConNet) or download from HOBBES and read the readme to know how
pay for a license.
In contrst to its name it supports serial modems, ISDN and DSL
You would need:
a) in one computer (without ISDNPM/eConnect
connect this computer to the other one using a Crossover
Network cable
in the other computer:
1. a network card to connect to the other computer
2. a network card to connect to the DSL modem
and another crossover Network cable
or a ISDN card
or a serial modem
You can so connect exactly 2 computers. When you have to connect
more than that you would need b.
or
b) a SWITCH with 2 standard CAT5e network cables
to connect your computers to the switch
and
in one of the computers another network card, modem or ISDN card
like described in a.
2. use a hardware DSL router.
There is no software (except installed tcp/ip) needed to connect to
DSL. You would easy connect your computers to the router to have
anything you needs:
- 2 network cables (CAT5e) to connect the computers to the router
When you owns more computer than the hardware DSL router supports
you would simply extend the network by bying a SWITCH and connect
the switch to the router and any computer to the switch instead
directly to the router and connect through the Uplink port the
switch to the router.
As you homed in germany I would give you a hint to buy not only a DSL
modem + DSL and network router + analog and ISDN telephone switchboard
but real internet and phone flatrates:

Simply click on DSL to know how to save money.
It works very well together with OS/2 and ecomstation as my own
practice proves miute for minute, day for day.
