Frankenheimer did not direct ST:TMP.  That was Robert Wise who also gae us 
"The Andromeda Strain" and the classic "The Day the Earth Stood Still".  
Frankenheimer did films like "The Manchurian Candidate" and "Seven Days in 
May".  BTW, those are both fairly fast-paced movies.
