Alex...
Either way will work. I regularly monitor both the C_Echo and here for
useful stuff (the Usenet newsgroups are much less useful since no one there
ever seems to post code!) As an alternative, you're certainly welcome to send
stuff to me directly at either 1:106/2000.6 or rbs@snippets.org.
The only requirement for SNIPPETS publication is that code must be
explicitly public domain or carry a free use license within the body of the
code. All other selection criteria are detailed in the SNIPPETS.RAT rationale
file within SNIPPETS itself.
One other thing I should mention, though... At any given time, I typically
have in excess of 2,000 files in my SNIPPETS in basket for review and
possible publication. There have been instances when folks have submitted
stuff and it's taken 1 or more release cycles (typically 9-10 months apart)
before it gets included in a SNIPPETS release. Some authors get disheartened
by this delay, and I can understand that. Still, when someone takes the time
to explicitly donate code to SNIPPETS, I like to always mention this fact so
thay don't interpret the possible delay as a comment on the quality of their
submission.
Having said all the disclaimers, the one final thing to add is that I
especially welcome C++ code submissions! Even with code posted here in the
C++ echo, there is still a much larger quantity of generic C code posted than
there is of C++ specific code. I'd like to increase the percentage of C++
code and the only way to do it is if more folks post useful code.
