No, you don't just hook it up to the parallel port!

An 600 has an IDE Hard Drive interface.  Get an IDE CDRom, and hook it up
to the IDE port.

You will then need a software device driver so the Amiga can talk to the CD
Rom.  Not too hard to chase.
