Kinda like all the 9-11 jokes which were going around I suspect.

My personal favourites of that genre was were the princess grace jokes
which then got transferred to Diana as in:

Did you hear Princess Grace/Diana was on the radio recently?

& she was on the dashboard, the steering wheel etc.etc.
