For that matter, I wonder what's the actual tally of chemical artillery
rounds, bombs, etc. that over the years have been lost, unaccounted for, or
recorded as "something else in the back of that old Quonset/Nissen
hut" for the US or the UK... which presumably do claim "organized
inventory" at  a higher standard than one would expect of Iraq?

Given the quantities Iraq had, and used off and on in an eight-year war,
~500 in twos and threes really is down in the noise.
