Public school is fine for some people and it does have it's place. the
iggest
problems, I think, center around the fact that the teachers are forced to
center their curriculum around 25-30 kids all off varying levels and
abilities.
The teacher is forced to go with the average, which leaves some kids behind
and
some sitting bored but covers the majority for the most part.
The exception being specialized classes with low teacher/student ratio like
the
special ed program my son is in. This is a case where not only are the
teachers
specially trained to deal with the "not average" but by law each child must
have the education catered to his needs. Not only that, but they are able to
afford therapists and equipment for the classes that I could not afford on my
own. For Kirk, public school suits his needs.
However, my girls were falling through the cracks...so for them,
omeschooling
is the better choice.
                                  ...peace...
