it appears so with the software you have available and have chosen to
use... the only real solution i know of is GIGO and that's only because
i've been using it since it first came out...

since soupgate can make PKTs, it may read PKTs going back the other way...
if so, then that setup would be like a GIGO setup... what i mean by that is
that GIGO, on my system, has a node number all its own... mail to and from
the internet are sent to and from that node number... if soupgate can go
both ways to and from fidonet, then i suspect that you would assign it a
node or point address and have at it... in my setup, i've managed to get it
all tied in together but effectively, it is two tossing scenerios...

inbound internet traffic goes thru the SMTP stuff into .BAG files... GIGO
then reads them and creates PKT files... then my normal tossing operations
take over and mail is tossed into the bbs and my downlinks as well as going
upstream if needed...

outbound to the internet is basically the same as it ever was... the tosser
scans out mail and puts it in PKTs... anything destined for the internet is
PKT'd to GIGO's node number... and moved to a directory where GIGO can find
it... then GIGO runs and converts the PKTs to UUCP spool files... the SMTP
stuff for GIGO takes those and converts them to SMTP stuff and sends it on
that way...

news is a bit different and i haven't messed with pulling any newsgroups
but the basic processes would still be the same... inbound news would be
grabbed by the GIGO news process and put into .BAG files... outbound would
be handled the same as above but the outbound news process would take it
instead of the SMTP process...

dunno if this helps any at all... but it is about all i have to offer...
