I'm not sure if any cams are built with a high excentric on one
of the sides, especially for fp operation. Except for very high
performance engines, it's nearly impossible to tell a stock cam
from a "throatier" one. The very HP are designed to run a roller
lifter and they are very easy to compare against a stock one.
The differences in lift of stock through intermediate cams is
measure in hundreths to at most a 1/10 inch or so.
BTW, there are 2 reasons a marine cam is different. The primary
reason is the engine's intented operating speed. Few marine
motors have more than a forward and reverse driveline. The cam
is designed to give optimum performace for cruising speed.
The other is for the reverse rotation engines. In that case,
a stock cam would open the valves in the opposite sequence
necessary for the 4 cycle power order.
