I may have misunderstood you. I doubt that I misunderstood Michiel.:-)

If law enforcement agencies had any reason to be concerned about Fidonet
traffic, they would act. Fax interception was de rigueur some time ago but
may have stopped because fax traffic is way down.

"On the nodelist?" An ION uses the Internet to move its Fidonet
traffic and what is in the nodelist will only determine the destination.
My understanding is that packets are only likely to be intercepted
successfully if the interceptor has access to a point along a route. Given
that not all packets route the same way, that's a chancy proposition.
FTD> Sorry, I don't get the full meaning of "static" there.
Consider it a slang expression which means "don't give me a hard time".

No ndisagreement there.

I assume you paid for your bicycle. And while a Testa Rossa would not be
useful for everyone, having a bicycle here would be useless six months of
the year.

What pun in English?
FTD> ;)) Ok. _In my block of flats and nowhere else_ Inet has to

As you wish.
FTD> And you are that well informed? };)
FTD> Wake up and smell the coffee, Steve };) Inet still stinks with

Ifg you are talking about pornography on the Internet, I acknowledge that
there is a lot of junk and that there is some work involved in filtering
it. I would not use the term "a lot of work" but then I may be
more proficient in filtering the stuff than most.
Fidonet, on the other hand, has lost most of its content, at least in Zone
1. Echoes like ALASKA_CHAT or CAN_SYSLAW once had 6 to 10 messages a day
but are now either moribund or dead. Other echoes like BBSLAW and FILM
have suffered similar fates.
Obviously, Fidonet does not need much filtering but that should not be
surprising if there's lkittle there.
Take care,
