?? Why is that? We (in the EU) rescue illegal immigrants drifting in
boats all the time e.g. at the mo Italy & Spain have a big problem with this.

I think it's called "humanitarianism" is meant to be a sign of a
civilized society.

Obviously we could spot them dying in their small boats & just sail on by but....
