BBC World Service is paid for by the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office. FYI.

The rest of the BBC is independent of government but chartered to provide a
public service in return for funding via a TV licence fee.

I think BBC news is pretty crap nowadays. I don't watch 'Fox' but people
who do say it's beyond satire. Sky News (which is sister to Fox) seems
about reasonable.
