You can get Sta_Bil at most automotive parts places, hardware stores, etc.
I have a nice shutoff valve on the fuel line on my generator, and it's my 
practice to close it and let the engine run the carb dry before shutting off 
the ignition. The gas in the tank will "keep" for a LONG time (a year or more 
if the vent isn't large), but the carb suffers from having gas left in it.
