Try writing some stuff to 0xB800:0x0000. You will find the format is an array
of characters and attributes, both taking a byte. Eg: 0xB800:0x0000 will be
the letter, and 0xB800:0x0001 will be it's attribute. I'm not sure of the
attribute format though.

You can't change the text mode palette, as far as I know. If you can, then it
should work in a reasonable similar way.
