subject: Fluval 304- The Disaster

I am so angry. I had back in the early 90's a Fluval Canister. It was my
first and aside from the these little fragile clips which were used to lock
the top on, I loved it. I was careful and never did break the clips. I gave
it away. Since then, Hagen/Fluval redesigned it and as I loved the my old
Fluval model I jumped for it cuz it looked great on paper and in real life.

But then my nightmare begins. The first was broken out of the box. The
second leaks by the handle. The third leaks by the handle. I have read about
how other people are complaing about the Fluval latest series canisters
leaking too. I know I am not the only one. Are there others out there whose
Fluvals (latest model) is leaking. I figure 3 strikes and you are out. I am
saddened by it but the Fluval is a piece of well-designed thinking which
doesn't actually work in real life. In real life their newest line of
canisters are junk. You can't clean the newly design hoses because they are
ribbed. Now instead of the wonderful old manifold system of returning water
into the tank, you jet-ram this jet of water into your tank blowing your
fish and plants all around. I am now debating which other canister maker to
go with.
