Hi Robert,
Although I've never had to skip any sessions here - I am pretty sure
that you have that mainly correct, apart from the fact that when you
skip a [or # of] session[s], the newly written session would inherit the
session identifier of the one overwritten - i.e. in your scenario "DVD
into reader, see only session 2" would be " see only [new]
session 1",
and when you finalise any session, when attaching later for further
writing the next sequential session is started, which is why there is
the option to "close without session", where session is left
"open".
Finalize session The current session is closed and the new
session is prepared for writing.
The CD can be read in CDROM drives
Finalize with write
protection
The current session is closed as above, yet the
new session is not prepared for writing, that is,
the CD is logically write protected (sealed) until
the CD is unsealed.
The CD can be read in CDROM drives
Close without session The remaining cache data and the directory are
written to the CD, yet the current session is not
closed. Use this option to temporarily detach a
CD without closing the session.
The CD can only be read in CD recorders with
this software.
