Maybe you thought Secretary General Kofi Annan intervened
in the Iraqi situation due to his sense of ethics and
duty... and then maybe you still believe in the Easter
Bunny also.
Our own home-grown Dufus has once again given away the store
after being backed into a corner by the Ohio town meeting.
Remember the Senate compromise on UN funding last fall? The
one in which limited payment on our "debt" would be made
contingent upon reform of the UN bureaucracy.
Subsequent to Annan's intervention, the Dufus is now
requesting $1 billion for the UN - $200 million more than
the agreed amount - and the 27 required reforms have all
been shelved.
