Elementary teachers get hired pretty quickly here.  An elementary certificate 
will get you a job K-8-that is what I have.  Yes, I think our pay is low, but 
I like living in NM because of the climate, culture, and history.  Also, I 
think the surrounding states have the wrong approach to education.  Arizona 
would be my second choice other than here-forget Texas--it is a test run 
system.
