In respect of what your analogy is (or, more importantly, *also* ought to
be) analogous to: Why
not inevitable!?
Given the very general but certain knowledge that life arouse relatively
early and proliferated profusely (procreated in massive parallel) within
'these few billion' earth-years, the Law of Large Numbers will guarantee
that *roughly* every potential permutation of geno/phenotype have had
(estimately) at least one
opportunity to arise (if only briefly so) thanks to _opportunity type
evolutionary pressure_ [there I go again :->] type "potentials".
Evolutionary pressures is the 'opportunity' (very most primarily) and
"naturally _pruning_" (rather than selecting) 'adversity' that produces
biological patterns of *all* kinds (even psychological and cognitively
conscious such patterns).

Adversity and Opportunity type evolutionary pressures are the almost equally
fundamental (since an Opportunity type evolutionary pressure has had to be
primordially predominant for a quantum-cosmological sequence of
"patternings" to not only arise but prevail in the very first place -- as
far as a multiversal big bang scenario is considered); _And_, when this
concept is carried through into the realm of psychobiological pattenings
(approximately so put),  the significance of the Adversity side of the
equation is resting mainly on a recognition of (what I have accEPTably
called and defined as) "selective Hibernation imploring type situations".

This being so at least as far as the both broadly and profoundly
_explanatory_
Evolution Philosophical Thinking is concerned.
