JG> OS/2 was never designed for "hard" real time. Well, no, but it can support a 9600 baud modem which means it must have a least a 1 millisecond response time which is good enough. The cpu normally reads about 180kps from this board and reduces the data in real time. We need to put summation logic and maybe a dma circuit on the board. Then OS/2 need only sample the data every second or so to make an interesting waveform display. Every 10 minutes it must unload the summation array to produce a report... possibly paste to the spreadsheet. We already have a working system. I was interested in OS/2 and Windoze in order to make a better user interface. The board hardware has to be upgraded no matter what os we choose. -Bob- * Go Ahead!
