-> WC>>> I just ran a bottle or two of ethanol through the tank -> WC>>> from time to time and cleaned out the carb bowls. -> ->> With most cars having fuel injection now there are no 'carb -> ->> bowls'. -> WC> I know this however I'm getting OLD. -> Fortunately you have friends to watch over you. ;-) Yeah there are a few of you. -> ->> Electric fuel pump gets the fuel to the injectors with no -> ->> need for a resevoir. -> WC> Yup. -> WC>>> Speaking motorcycle here and the effect of using the -> WC>>> ethanol was pronounced. -> ->> I've had good luck with STP brand 'cleaners' over the years. -> WC> Had a Gran Torino once that was pretty weird, for a time it -> WC> ran fine on gasolene then it would spit - sputter and lose -> WC> power, switch to gasohol and it ran until it did the same -> WC> thing than back to gasolene. Strange. -> Sounds like that station wasn't pumping the water out of it's -> tanks often enough and you had to search for the 'dryest' of -> the bunch. :-) No, that couldn't be it as it would go for month on one than months on the other than back and I used different stations. The worst was on leaving Florida once I topped the tank at a state line Ameco and the bloody car spit and sputtered most of the way to Tenneessee. I always used premium Ameco in the motorcycles and that made a very noticable difference.
