-> He might ... the vacation would also be fun for you too. I think REG
-> had fun just preparing for his journey ... outfitting the RV, taking
-> short experimental trips .
Yes, Reg prepared in his own inimitable style, making ABSOLUTELY sure
his bird friends would lack for nothing, AND making sure that they were
properly acknowledged for the royal birds that they are. :*) I bet he
has such fun explaining all the stripes and insignia on his RV doors.
If only finding high tech jobs was fun right now. . . They are few and
far between. If you speak to him again, tell him to try Albuquerque and
to go to Bosque del Apache Wildlife Preserve. It's a bird watcher's
paradise- thousands of snow geese and a group of sandhill cranes
fostering a few whooping cranes. They are HUGE and magnificent.
-> trips ... I moved Zonker from the sun room to the kitchen ... more
-> seasonal activity in the kitchen anyway. The move did her good.
-> Kept her on her toes the first week or so. Now she is more part of
-> her family ... more content ... less anxious ... less likely to pluck
-> her feathers (which has not yet). Around February I expect we will
-> move her back or to another room. Try it with NIgel ... it might
-> work. Keep variety part of his life ... .
I'd try your suggestion, Tom, if we HAD another room to move him to.
We're building our addition as fast as we can. Nigie and Zigs are
stationed strategically between the kitchen and dining area now. They
demand a portion of all consumables, of course. (You notice I'm calling
Nigel, "Nigie", right now- (S)he stuck her tail up in a feminine kind of
way when Charlie was tickling her under the covers!) The thing Nigie
likes best is riding on my shoulder everywhere I go, and getting into
everything I do. She's shockingly spoiled. Wish I'd heard that advice
about not getting them used to routines that you can't keep up when
they're baby birds.  I think I caused the plucking behavior. . . :*(
-> BTW, my pair have given me a chick. Tinker gets pulled DEC 14th for
-> hand feeding ... bought time!  17 infertile eggs ... sheese ...
Oh MAN, Tom! You have only a week and a half to get your @#%&*!
together! Good luck! BTW, Tinker is a very nice name for a baby grey.
                                                               TTYL,
                                                                Jan
