That may be so, but my handshaking takes a mere fraction of a second anyway 
with the port at 112,000. The benefit of extra speed on downloading 
uncompressed files is greater for me. 
I do not use my modem on the net (I get that at work) but I would imagine 
that downloading speeds for web pages would be improved with a port speed of 
112,000?
