If it's clear what the Beatles relevance is (as it is here), I don't see 
a problem with it. But if you think your article won't be understood in 
the context of the Beatles, a line or two explaining the connection 
would be much appreciated.

If someone wants to debate the merits of The Move's version of "Do Ya" 
vs. ELO's, perhaps that's less appropriate. But a discussion of whether 
The Move or ELO was the more Beatlesesque band would fit nicely.

Use your best judgement.
