all national anthems are ridiculous, but at least the french have a good
tune. i can play a good psychedelic version of advance australia fair on my
synth, could have made a fortune in the sixties. there was a really poor
fucked up version of walzing matilda that was pushed in the sixties as the
new anthem, basically the words said "we are australians, come near us
and we will fuck you over" and came with a video clip of tanned blond
lifesavers, raaf sabres peeling off and i think an abbo with boomerang and
woomera just to show that it wasn't racist. personally i think that the
national anthem shouldn't have words, just a tune to play at the olympics
when an australian wins.

so how does that make you better than the rest? are my kids different to me
coz they were born here even though i've been an australian citizen longer
than two of them?

i didn't come on a big white ship, i came on a clapped out old aeroplane
with 4 big fans on the front that broke down even before we took off. the
tickets were only 10 quid, but that is about what the trip was worth (:

other than the blacks, we all come from immigrants, so white australia owes
100% of its structure, good and bad to them. personally i feel that there
should be some privileges not accorded to non citizens, and citizenship be
made dependent on showing some level of compliance with the local social
norms.

crap, to get in these days, most need something that this country has
decided that it needs, skills or money. much is made of those who dont come
in that way in order to stir up the senile old farts, just look at
pauline's followers. her biggest fan that i have met was a 75 year old pom!

yep with a fucking big steamroller. the oxleymoron is trading on the old
formula of "things are really crook but it isn't the fault of you nice
white middle class folks, its all them niggers/chinks/druggies/" she even has her ghost written "mein
kamf" out.

if you look at it realistically (i know that that is hard) australia is no
better and no worse than most places, its just that, if you like it's
peculiarities, you stay here, if you dont, you fuck off. 

if you want to claim a position in the local society, do it by your
achievments not demand it just coz your parents happenned to be here when
you were born.
